Meta’s MoQ strategy could unify media transport infrastructure across ingest, delivery, and playback, but blocked or rate-limited UDP/443 means QUIC-only deployment is not yet practical. Operators still need TCP fallback, transport selection, compatibility support, and eventually standardized QMUX to replace RUSH and retire legacy parallel stacks.

MoQ natively represents media tracks, objects, relays, caching, fan-out, and subscriber-specific latency, enabling relays to prioritize or drop individual objects and support adaptive quality and varied timeliness without parsing media payloads.
